Mmmmm… the appetizing taste of burger with a serving of fries!! Or pizza with sauce? No- no! I know! Pasta!!!! Ahhh, sausages, ribs, Romanian “mici”…
When you want to go out and eat in the city, these are always the first options you think about, and depending on them you choose your restaurant. Have you noticed that in Romania, we eat more meat than anywhere else? Let it be much and good! These are the criterion in most cases (eat until your pants crack on).
The competition is big, and every restaurant tries to attract customers as best as they can. Potatoes cut in a different form, pizza in larger quantity, handmade pasta, restaurant décor, specifics, or prices. Each tries to lure as they can, and you have the opportunity to visit them all (and the winner is….).
But what about Vegan restaurants or those that have different and special dishes (maybe you don’t even know how to pronounce it)? Curiosity is a virtue, but when hungry, the chance of these to enter your top choice is little.
Fortunately, a healthy lifestyle began to take on a new twist, thus even becoming a trend. Vegetables get new combinations on your plate, and menus become more understandable to everyone. More and more young people prefer to experiment, and try healthier preparations, deposit less on the hips, and taste (ah yes, and gluten-free and everything else in this “domain”). Restaurants are much more varied, and you have more and more options to diversify your menu of the week, whether you’re on a diet or simply tired of burger, pizza, and pasta. Plates take on new shapes and colors, and they house combinations you couldn’t even think of. The menu is full of protein, vitamins, and supplements needed by your body, and the possibility of having a frozen product is getting smaller.
Usually, these healthy restaurants are small and give you privacy (so if you have someone around you who would condemn you for changing the burger for “holy guacamole”, be sure that there is little chance of meeting them there unless this person “sins” like you).
Do you remember the taste of tomatoes from your grandparents’ garden? Those big, juicy tomatoes that taste so good! Fresh vegetables are increasingly sought after by restaurant kitchens so that they get contracts with small farmers, and you will get far fewer pesticides hidden behind the screaming and “attractive” colors (the soul, or in this case taste matters, and appearances are always deceiving, even when it comes to a vegetable).
And most importantly, because the owners of these restaurants are aware that they are not at the top of your choices when you are very hungry, every customer is much appreciated, gets the necessary attention, and their inventiveness to attract you is extremely creative. Ah yes, and the food will look worthy of being instagrammable.
What do you think? Will you take a trip at least once a month to the land of healthy, tasty, and less calorific plates?
